Every plan starts on the property. We walk the site and look at light, soil, irrigation, drainage, the health of what is already planted, and how the space actually gets used. That walk is what the drawing is built from, and it is where a wet corner, a shaded bed or a salt-exposed boundary gets found before anything is planted. Once the scope is set, we price the work in writing, so there is a clear scope and a firm number before a crew arrives. Consultations and estimates are free.
A full design takes in the planting plan, ornamental trees and palms, turf, hardscape direction, grading considerations, drainage and the installation sequence. Planning all of it as one document is what stops the pieces from fighting each other. Sleeving for irrigation and low voltage lighting goes in before paving. Grading and drainage are settled before planting. The plant list is chosen for the light and soil that particular yard has, not for a template.
Sarasota yards ask a lot of a planting plan. Summer rain, long heat and salt air on waterfront and coastal lots will find anything chosen on looks alone. We lean on native and Florida-friendly species that suit the conditions on the property, and we plan for what a plant will be at maturity rather than what it looks like on delivery day, so beds grow into the design instead of turning overgrown and generic.
A design does not have to be installed all at once. Where the budget or the schedule calls for it, we phase the work, putting grading, drainage and sleeving in first so that later phases do not mean digging up finished surfaces. Any permitting requirements are identified during the site visit.
